Kenny Larkin – Keys, Strings, Tambourines

Un album aproape cinematografic, cu tenta dramatica, techno cu puls si inima, care aduce aminte, bineinteles, de Detroit. Simti textura piesei in fiecare minut si acea caldura care de obicei lipseste techno-ului din ziua de astazi. Este muzica cu o precizie aproape artizanala, synthuri kraftwerk, cut-uri de jazz care dau savoare – xilofon si pian – hi hats, house meditativ si ciudat, techno abstract care bubuie ringul, toate imbibate in emotie digitala.

“Am crezut ca ultimul meu album lansat la Peacefrog, in 2004, va fi ultimul meu album de techno. Cred ca e un fel de relatie de tipul dragoste-ura. Îmi place sa fac muzica, dar urasc directia in care a mers in ultimii 10 ani, este diluata fata de ceea ce obisnuia sa reprezinte inainte. Cred ca pot sa spun acelasi lucru pentru o multime de genuri. Deasemenea, imbatranesc, deci, poate, gusturile mele muzicale s-au schimbat si acum reflecta asta. Dar, indiferent cat de mult zic ”Gata, am terminat cu muzica asta!”, ma intorc la ea!”.

Antwarps este IDM melodic si fresh,
puternic orientat catre ambiental.
Detalii fine,
structuri grandioase, dar elementare
ritmuri regulate si aleatoare
exuberant şi imprevizibil,
ca un stranut.
Simplitatea isi tese ca un paianjen plasa
intre chitara, clape, orga,
si tonuri de sintetizator,
efect subtil de dezorientare
cald si medidativ.
