Ion va lansa un EP la Local Records, in septembrie. Mixul de mai jos se potriveste foarte bine cu viitorul release in materie de atmosfera, emotii si poveste. Dupa cum spune artistul, “mixul este loose, coborat ca agitatie si bpm, dar cert intr-o stare emotionala intensa. Early and not so early electro, ceva rock depresiv din anii 80, anii sumbrii ai lui Reagan si Thatcher, cateva interventii personale dar in general o selectie ce contine cativa monstrii profani ai muzicii in general. Stand up and enjoy the electric trip!”

The Model speaking: Aceste piese sunt proiecte la care am lucrat de-a lungul anilor. Tema din Japanese Garden este poate printre primele pe care le-am facut vreodata, in 2000, cand m-am apucat de facut muzica. Notele alea mi-au ramas in cap, si am profitat de abilitatile actuale pentru a relua tema si a o transforma intr-un track fluid de techno. Still in My Heart este o piesa care m-a marcat mult, este un cantec plin de teme muzicale melancolice si foarte emotionale. Vocalul lui Voytek este un bonus al colaborarii mele cu echipa de la My Favorite Robot. Jody Wisternoff de la Way Out West spune despre piesele astea ale mele ca sunt pline de “cold warmth”, si cred ca are dreptate, nu au caldura aia organica, telurica, sunt oarecum mai reci, un fel de lirism rece si sobru, si totusi vibrant. You este un alt cantec de dragoste in viziunea mea. Am lucrat foarte mult la synthuri si compozitie, iar a doua jumatate mi se pare momentul de mare inaltime a intregului EP. Cam asta cred ca este muzica pe care ar asculta-o robotii cand ar avea seri romantice.
Lucian Stefanescu: A fox cub jumped in front of our bicycles, uphill in a forest in the Moravian Highlands. Nice long ears, thick furry tail, with a white tip. It stopped and stared at us for a moment, then jumped away in the woods.
Petra claims it was the fifth time in her life she saw a fox (She lived in England for some time). Mine was only the third, although foxes often made intrusive appearances in the poems I’ve written in my twenties.
This mix is dedicated to that fox cub in the Moravian Highlands.
