La fel cum Web-ul s-a inchis de 10 ori, asa se deschide Embryo acum, a cata oara? Prima data s-a deschis in 2005, apoi s-a inchis si a devenit magazin de haine cu adaos comercial high. S-a redeschis ca Post Cochet de vreo doua ori si s-a inchis tot de atatea. Acum se reredeschide iar, cu sunet nou, decor nou si pereti vechi, aia de cocoon, din 2005. Pe flyer scria initial gresit v.1, este de fapt v.4, iar la toamna, cand va incepe oficial sezonul de petreceri inside, va exista o noua redeschidere, v.5. Sa ne redeschidem si noi, caci Embryo este speranta sa avem unde face post clubbing. Vineri, cu Giuser si Jijian b2b, si toata seria de CD-uri Local, la bar. Sa se nasca odata !
Burn ne-a transmis un comunicat despre o initiativa de altfel laudabila, in care mai multi dj si producatori romani s-au intalnit in fata unui Burn, desi evident isi doreau toti o bere, sa dezbata situatia scenei locale. Comunicatul pune din pacate, mai mult accentul pe initiativa brandului decat pe “probleme reale” identificate despre care nu aflam mare lucru, decat ca e nevoie de un spatiu si de un label. Nu am inteles bine problemele, in schimb avem, normal, solutiile: Localrec.ro si Embryo. Glumim si noi, da ceva acolo tot e. Here it goes:

La intalnire au participat: Vania, Victor M si Aeromaschine (delegatii Burn la International Music Summit Ibiza), The Model, Gojira, Thornado, Bogdan, Tomoasan, VRT, Brazda lui Novac si Yvat.
Vara asta nu are nici dracu chef sa danseze, summer of love is fucking over, post-rave, post-amphetamine is the name of the game. Synth-uri, reverb-uri, melodii frumoase, toate un pic cam dupa formula, dar pe plaja, dupa-amiaza, nu se discuta de-astea. Mai ales cand esti la birou de fapt.
O poveste pastorala, cu fluiere, pian, chitari si voce. Avant pop sau pop experimental, spune-i cum vrei, texturi cosmice, sf optzecist si influenta ambientala Brian Eno, putin kraut-rock, putin balearic si drone. Estetica New age si synthuri analog minimaliste. Pe scurt, tot ce trebuie pentru un trip complet.

Pontone’s Special Guest: Simon Reynolds – Eldritchtronica and Wyrd Bliss Mixtape
“When Pontone asked if I fancied coming up with a mixtape of favorites from the last decade, I thought “that could get pretty motley”. So I focused on a particular sound-stream: “eldritchtronic”, a non-existent genre that cuts across a bunch of zones (hauntology, the trippier end of microhouse, hypnagogic/glo-fi, the Brooklyn school of “ecstatic experimental”, etc). Mostly electronic but rarely intersecting with the dancefloor, this music merges blissy and eerie, the wired and the wyrd. And because the 2000s was when the linear temporality of music definitively dissolved, there’s leakage from the remote past, musique concrete and text-sound by artists I encountered for the first time during the Noughties. The selection was by me; Pontone assembled and sequenced (expertly–only thing I’d change would be to have “Chronometer” emerge out of “Fizheuer” Zieheuer”… try it, you’ll see what I’m getting at). But I did ask for the Ariel Pink song to go last, as that has special meaning.” Simon Reynolds
