Cine forma Cindy Cat? Cum v-ati intalnit?
Radu Draganescu si Bogdan Albu. Ne-am intalnit la Casa de cultura a studentilor Gr. Preoteasa unde faceam repetitii, fiecare cu alta trupa. Eu cu una de muzica si Bogdan cu una de dans. La un moment dat ne-am unit si am avut chiar un concert impreuna in sala de acolo. Si pe langa muzica nu o sa uit niciodata ce petreceri faceam in sala lor de dans.
A fost “La Sovata” ceva spontan sau a avut nevoie de brainstorming?
Venisem eu cu o schita de piesa, apoi a cazut curentul (se intampla destul de des in perioada aceea), am aprins doua lumanari, am deschis o sticla de vin si ne-am dat frau liber imaginatiei. Imi amintesc ca eram super excitati de piesa noastra…
Cine a scris versurile? Exista Nicu cu adevarat?
Bogdan le-a scris, cred ca ceva aberatii am mai avut si eu pe acolo. Ce sa spun, ne-am distrat! Nicu?! Pai el exista in numeroase exemplare in tara noastra. Iar armata o facuseram amandoi si nu trecusera prea multi ani de atunci.
Cum a fost piesa perceputa de public?
Multa lume a fredonat-o si inca multa lume o stie… Sunt chiar surprins si azi cand cineva imi aminteste de ea si de vremurile acelea. Poate nu era neaparat cea mai buna piesa a noastra, dar stii cum e, TV-ul face minuni. Clipul a adus enorm pentru promovare. Si mai erau si concertele cu Generatia Pro.
Ati scos-o pe caseta?
Nu stiu daca tu mai stii, dar pe vremea aceea NU EXISTA nici o casa de discuri. Prin urmare nimeni nu ne-a propus sa scoatem piesa pe un album, iar ea nu a aparut oficial pe nici un album sau compilatie.
words by Jeff Mills: From the beginning, I knew that with this subject, if not approached in the genuine way, could be misleading as to why I would make a project on the subject as predictable as a Pet Robots. It is clear to me that Robots will become more important as they integrate in to our everyday lives and increasingly so in the far future. With this view of certainty, the inescapable facts about how we will shape our existence will grow as we wrestle with how much civility our societies will require.
My interest grew over the past year on this subject and the view I’ve developed of the negligent and reckless usage of technology like computers, Internet, reproductive science and artificial intelligence. Enhanced by the media sources, these instances of deceit and alternative motives become major, influential and controlling. It seems that in our quest to perfect ourselves and the world around us, we often accept and ignore tradition, the values that are taught and learned in the possesses.
Care e diferenta dintre The Model la radio si The Model la club?
Mixurile de radio sunt alta treaba. Clubul e una, radio e alta. Se pot intrepatrunde, dar nu e musai sa fie identice. Imi pregatesc mixurile de radio cu mare atentie. Le fac sa fie gen un lexicon de techno, elektro si house, nu intotdeauna in ordinea asta. Mixurile pe care le fac live la radio imi dau si posibilitatea sa fac un megamix. Cel de astazi dureaza 40 de minute si are 26 de piese, pana clipesti a trecut la alta bucata. Fac asta in mod constant si la club, unde media din cate am observat este intre 2.5 si 3 minute. Imi place stilul asta alert, tot timpul in priza.
Dezvolta lexiconul acestui set
Neo trance, techno gen kanzleramt 2000, Chicago house, dub gen tikiman, dar si dub de berlin produs de Pacou, house New York sound, care suna altfel decat Chicago, elektro foarte breakuit dar si 4/4, clasice gen Chris Korda, si chiar si EBM. Clar nu este un mix pentru oamenii care prefera una sau alta. Mi se spune la club: “mi-a placut partea aia, dar nu aialalta”. Eu incerc sa le explic ca fiecare gen isi are rostul lui si farmecul lui. Am pus The Doors la open air la Iasi. Am taiat mixul dupa doua ore de banging sounds si am pus Aura Urziceanu. Urasc partizanatul si purismul stafidit, in orice directie ar merge el. Avem nevoie si de Academie, dar si de trivialitatea facuta bine.

Rokolectiv Soundcamp is a seven days residency for sound experiments and field recording. Nine artists will work out of the urban context in a studio hosted by the prototype of the Star Dome in Rucar, an innovative house turned into space for artistic residency. Star Dome is a modular dwelling, one of the few sustainable architecture structures in Romania.
Rokolectiv Soundcamp promotes an artistic and cultural research, an investigation of the natural landscape with its acoustic and language peculiarities. The project consists of individual field recording sessions, as well as workshops, panels and debates for and with the artists involved. The works realized during the residency will be gathered on a promotional CD.
