Londonezul Sam Shepherd are 23 de ani si isi da doctoratul in farmacie. Muzical, ca DJ, trece prin toate stilurile si le imbina astfel incat creaza hibrizi precum boogie house sau glitch-hop dubstep sau te miri ce. “Pun muzica de cand aveam 13 ani, dar nu –am considerat niciodata DJ. Cand eram copil, toata muzica pe care voiam sa o cumpar – jazz si clasica – era mai ieftina pe disc, asa ca facea sens sa-mi cumpar vinyluri. Am sfarsit prin a cumpara platane si a cumpara foarte mult bullshit, ca piano house, ha, ha!. Discurile mele contin de toate: muzica siriana, indiana, calasica, jazz, house, dubstep, hip hop, soul. As spune ca jumatate din colectia mea de discuri este muzica clasica sau jazz. Restul e haos…Imi place hip hop, dar stiu atat d eputine despre el. Imi place mult technoul vechi”.

Ca producator, face riffuri de synthuri si melodii acide care au atata caldura si consistenta incat ai impresia ca le poti atinge. S-a lansat anul trecut, a scos patru ep-uri dementiale, majoritatea la labelul propriu, Eglo, dar el produce inca de acum 12 ani. Asa ca, la multe dintre piesele scose in 2009 a lucrat si 5-6 ani. Si-a petrecut adolescenta jucandu-se cu echipament vintage si spune in interviuri ca influentele principale ii sunt Stockhausen si Varese, dar si Atkins si May.

Anul acesta a scos deja un EP de suflet, “Vacuum” soul house pentru care a semplat zdraganitul unei perechi de chei, un extinctor si aspiratorul parintilor sai. Acest din urma sample il are din adolescenta. Si mai exista samplat si sunetul unei masini de scris. Un Ep, ca un vis clasic.

What are the dates for the Dessert Discovery so we can plan travel? We went last year and it was an amazing experience. Also, will the food and wine seminars be posted soon as well?
